** Currently lives in a pet boarding facility. Many staff members walk, feed and play with him. He does well with adult staff, but is unsure of teens at times. Kai is food aggressive at times.
Kai is a spunky little man who founds himself at the local shelter. He had been found tied up outside, alone. He deserves a forever family. The shelter vet said he is 5+ years old, heartworm negative. If interested, apply today!
Kai is probably best suited for women who understand chihuahuas. Unpredictable, excitable behaviors seem to make him nervous. He's not a nervous dog overall, but doesn't like a fast approach, people who are emotional around him confuse him, and can resource guard food around other dogs.
Kai has actually done great with us and our staff 18 and up at our pet boarding facility where he lives. He's a love bug with some of us in particular.
A completed adoption application and home visit are required for approval to adopt a CARE dog. Out of state adoptions okay. All dogs receive a distemper/parvovirus vaccine(s), kennel cough vaccine, rabies vaccine, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, flea & tick prevention and treatment if needed, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE.
