The Hollywood Starlets

The Hollywood Starlets are 4 Toy Poodles who were dumped by a Backyard Breeder. Backyard Breeders have only one goal in mind, and that is to make money. They breed the dogs they can sell the fastest for the most money with no regard for their health or well-being. All 4 of the poodles came to us with health problems that were previously ignored. With your help, we can make these dogs happy, healthy, and whole and find them good homes with loving owners who will give them the pampered life a Hollywood Starlet deserves!

CARE's annual Valentine's Day bake to benefit the Hollywood Starlets was a big success.

Hedy Lamarr's jaw surgery is expected to cost in excess of $1000, so we are still in need of funds.

VivianVivian Leigh

Vivian is the lucky one. She only had a minor inguinal hernia that was repaired at her spay on January 25. Of course, this cost more money than a normal spay surgery. She has recovered nicely from her surgery and has been adopted!

ingridIngrid Bergman

Ingrid had a skin infection that caused her to lick her elbows raw. She has been on antibiotics, high quality food and supplements, and topical skin ointments. She is healing nicely and much more comfortable now that the itching is relieved. Ingrid's skin is now all clear, and she has been adopted!

LaurenLauren Bacall

Lauren, like Vivian, had an inguinal hernia. She also had a lump on her abdomen. The lump was biopsied at her spay and sent to a lab for further testing. Thankfully, it was benign. Lauren, the most social and outgoing of the group has been adopted.

HedyHedy Lamarr

Hedy is having the worst time of it. Her foster mom noticed she wasn't eating well. She took her to the Vet, and he found that her jaw is broken and has been for a while. It is completely disconnected. She has developed a serious infection in the jaw and suffered from this for weeks. It will take several more weeks of antibiotics before she will even be healthy enough for surgery to repair the jaw. Hedy still has a long road of recovery ahead of her before she will be ready for adoption. In addition to her physical injuries, Hedy is nervous and scared. We are working on healing her physically and emotionally.

All of these ladies were dirty, matted, and scared when they came to us. Toy Poodles were meant to be lap dogs, bringing joy to their humans by cuddling in their laps and making them smile with their clown like antics. They were not meant to be living ATMs.
